About the tutor
Your tutor will be Barbara Kernick. Barbara started working for Learn Devon in 2000 and teaches various courses for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities including art and drama. She also teaches Improve your English, maths, IT and arts and crafts courses from time to time. Before working for Learn Devon, Barbara volunteered in literacy groups and was part of the family racehorse training business. Outside of teaching, Barbara has six grandchildren growing up fast who keep her busy, but she is keen on cooking and travelling when she has the chance. Barbara enjoys teaching as she likes helping people to realise more of their potential and giving them new opportunities and experiences. Barbara believes that learning is always better when the learner is relaxed, supported and enjoying themselves and she always works to make that happen.
