Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. It is for anyone who is being supported on a day-to-day basis, but who is hoping to be more independent in their daily life and who enjoys making things and exploring using mixed media to create items and craft pieces. This course is for anyone who enjoys using their hands.

Course content

Learners will enjoy making new friends by working both independently and collaboratively, learning and creating items connected with the theme of ‘Nature’. Learners will have the opportunity to visit the park during fine weather.

Support and feedback

Support will be given by the tutor and LSA when required. Learners are encouraged to work as independently as possible whilst learning new skills.

About the tutor

Your tutor will be Belinda Barten. Belinda started working for Learn Devon in 2005 and teaches various subjects such as English language for speakers of other languages (ESOL), arts and crafts courses for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities and family learning courses in North Devon. Before joining Learn Devon Belinda worked abroad teaching English as a foreign Language and spent several years self-employed, working in art restoration. Her priority is to ensure learners feel relaxed in the classroom whilst having a good time and learning something new.
