Who is this course for?
If you are an adult with learning difficulties and disabilities or you are being supported on a day-to-day basis but hope to be more independent in your daily life, then this course is for you.
This is for learners with little or no experience of clay. You will make a range of clay objects, tiles, nameplates, boxes, bowls etc and learn how to decorate and colour them. Make a nameplate for your door, a jewellery box, make your own creature.
You will be taught in a small, friendly and supportive group where you will have the opportunity to gain confidence and make new friends.
Making a variety of clay objects. Applying glazes and colour, adding decoration, firing them.
Applying clear glaze.
Support and feedback
The tutor will talk to you at each session to help and reassure you about your work.
Additional costs and requirements
Small paintbrushes will be required.
Please be aware that due to the nature of ceramics some items may not complete the firing process as you envisioned. This can include cracks, breakages and unintentional glaze finishes
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?

‘I love showing people new things and materials and helping them develop their skills. I believe everyone has a creative ability. We all drew before we could speak but sometimes this creative ability gets lost or buried. I like people to find what they never really knew they had.’
