Making and baking matters
Who is this course for?
If you are an adult with learning difficulties and disabilities or you are being supported on a day-to-day basis but hope to be more independent in your daily life, then this course is for you.
Come along and have fun making and cooking.
During the 10 sessions, you will be making a variety of sweet dishes, from biscuits and cakes to crumbles and pies. All food prepared will either be tasted at the centre or taken home.
Support and feedback
The tutor will provide full support and advice throughout the course along with practical demonstrations.
Additional costs and requirements
You will need to bring a container to carry your dishes home and an apron to protect clothes. There are no entry requirements.
You don’t need to bring anything with you for this course.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
There is no requirement to undertake any additional work in your own time
About the tutor
Colette Olah works as a tutor for Learn Devon and delivers a variety of Art and Craft courses. She also teaches Computer and Employability Skills to jobseekers in Barnstaple. She is a qualified Art and Design teacher who has worked in both mainstream and SEN education. She has also delivered Independent Life Skills to adults with learning difficulties and taught art and drawing skills in Adult Education classes in Worcestershire.
Prior to gaining her PGCE, Colette worked In Arts Development for Wolverhampton C.C, devising Arts initiatives across the city that were accessible to all sections of the community. She believes that art is for everyone and aims to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for all participants.
