Art and craft matters: make a tepee tea light holder

Who is this course for?

If you are an adult with learning difficulties and disabilities or you are being supported on a day-to-day basis but hope to be more independent in your daily life, then this course is for you.

If you enjoy craft and want to make a wonderful tepee tea light holder then this course is for you.

Course content

On this course you will be making your own tea light holder using weaving and other craft skills. When you have finished that you can take your skills forward to make other projects.

Support and feedback

During the course your tutor will explain what you need to do, feedback on your progress and help you with anything that you find difficult.

Additional costs and requirements

You do not need to bring anything with you but you might like to bring an apron in case you use paint.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?

No, but you might like to make things at home afterwards.

About the tutor

Barbara Kernick is a tutor working with independent living groups for Learn Devon teaching Drama, Shopping and Independence. Prior to this she worked as a literacy and numeracy tutor and a Skills for Life Coordinator. She has been teaching adults for over 20 years and is a senior practitioner and Internal Verifier. 

Before teaching she ran her own business and has been involved in various voluntary roles but now her six grandchildren take up most of her spare time.
