Who is this course for?

If you would like to improve your drawing skills, draw cartoons and learn new ideas, then this course is for you. Don’t worry if you have never drawn cartoons before because we are going to start at the beginning.

Course content

You will be learning some drawing and cartoon skills to make your own drawing journal. You will add colour to bring your drawings to life.

Support and feedback

You will be supported throughout the course and your tutor will work with you to check your progress and agree what you need to do to achieve the results that you want.

Additional costs and requirements

There are no entry requirements and you do not need to bring anything.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?

You do not need to do anything in your own time but you may enjoy practising some of the techniques that you learn.

About the tutor

Barbara Kernick is a tutor working with independent living groups for Learn Devon teaching Drama, Shopping and Independence. Prior to this she worked as a literacy and numeracy tutor and a Skills for Life Coordinator. She has been teaching adults for over 20 years and is a senior practitioner and Internal Verifier. 

Before teaching she ran her own business and has been involved in various voluntary roles but now her six grandchildren take up most of her spare time.
