This course is suitable for anybody wishing to find out more about how to make a short animated clip using software.

You will build-up a folder of work with the help of your tutor, learning support assistant and your support worker if you have one.
Additional costs and requirements
You don’t need to bring anything to the course as model making materials are supplied. We will be using models to make our animation film. You may wish to bring some money with you to buy a drink at break from the café.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
No, but you are welcome to do your own research in your own time and share your findings with the rest of the group if you wish.
About the tutor
Des Gauntlett currently works as a tutor for Learn Devon. Prior to this he worked for Nortel Networks for 14 years starting as an operator and finishing as a shift manager.
Des has an HNC in Mechatronics from South Devon College. Whilst working for Nortel Des also worked as a volunteer helping students to learn basic skills in the evenings.
After being made redundant Des decided to change careers and qualified as a Learning Support Assistant. Des worked briefly at South Devon College and was then offered a position as a teaching assistant working for Devon Adult and Community Learning. Des qualified as a tutor in 2007 and gained a Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTTLS) in 2010.
“I have worked mainly with adults with learning disabilities or difficulties for the last 9 years covering a range of topics and I feel privileged to be working with such a fantastic group of learners. The learners are enthusiastic and willing to learn which makes my job a real pleasure. I particularly enjoy teaching Local History, Computers and Digital Photography”
