Create your own garden
Who is this course for?
This is a three-part course for anyone who has an interest in learning creative ways to develop their garden. This course is aimed at any level, from beginner onwards.
You will explore garden design ideas.
You will learn how to use mosaic techniques to decorate a garden planter. You will learn how to use plants and seeds to improve your garden.
You will choose your own personal aim related to the course theme so that you can explore your own ideas.
You will decide on one garden improvement that you will try in your garden after the course.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone / headphones and a good internet connection.
You will need to provide your own materials.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. Your course will include practical tasks and discussions and your tutor will support you throughout. You may wish to continue work between the sessions. This will help you to get the best from the course and to progress at a pace you are comfortable with.

Any coloured media such as watercolour or coloured pencils
A terracotta planter
Strong PVA glue
Spatula or strips of cardboard
Pieces of broken crockery or pre-cut mosaic tiles

You may like to enrol on Contemporary floral design course with Learn Devon. You may like to join a local community gardening group or look online for other groups to join.
Your tutor will suggest ideas on what you can practice and how to build on what you have learnt. They will signpost you to other opportunities to support your learning. ”
