Bookbinding for all
Who is this course for?
This is a 5-week online-course to learn core bookbinding skills. It is designed for the absolute beginner but also as an opportunity to revisit and polish existing skills and experience.
You will have the opportunity learn how to create a decorative stitch book, a casement bound book and a stab binding book. You will learn how to prepare your materials and sew your books. During this process you will explore options for simple embellishments.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone / headphones and a good internet connection.
You will need to provide your own materials, detailed advice regarding these will be provided by the Tutor prior to the course.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. Your course will be largely focused on practical tasks, with opportunities for discussions and your tutor will support you throughout. You may wish to work on personal projects after the session and your Tutor can offer support and advice to facilitate this. This will help you reinforce learned skills and to progress at a pace you are comfortable with.
