Textiles: christmas decorations
Who is this course for?
This course may suit you if you want to make your own decorations using a variety of decorative textile techniques This course is suitable for all, but some basic sewing skills would be useful.
You will be learning about varied making and surface decoration techniques to make a range of Christmas decorations using cloth, thread and trims like buttons and beads.
It is an interactive one session course aimed at learning the basics of using textiles to make decorations.
There will be the opportunity to explore your own ideas and follow set practical tasks.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Additional costs and requirements
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and/or an apron.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners in our newly refurbished art room in The Alexander Centre in Tavistock.
Your tutor will give practical demonstrations, have discussions, set tasks, give feedback and will support you throughout the course with discussions and feedback on your progress where appropriate. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course.

All materials and equipment will be supplied but
You could bring any fabrics, buttons and other Christmassy bits and bobs that you have and might like to use in the making of your decorations.
