Altered treasure books
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who has an interest in papercraft and/or upcycling and is aimed at any level, from beginner onwards.
You will be exploring ways or altering book pages to create a new book, for holding treasured memories, journaling, and/or inspirational quotes. You will be trying a variety of techniques and experimenting with a range of materials.
Each week will focus on the different process, technique or activity needed to transform your book into a unique altered treasure book.
You will be able to explore your own ideas and each book will be personal to the maker.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Additional costs and requirements
As part of the course you will be making a fabric cover for the Treasure book and therefore you will need access to a sewing machine and iron.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone / headphones and a good internet connection.
You will need to provide your own materials.

How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. Your course will include practical tasks and discussions and your tutor will support you throughout. You may wish to continue work between the sessions. This will help you to get the best from the course and to progress at a pace you are comfortable with.
Resources and additional information:
Hard back book, (any size will be fine)
Paper cutting scissors
Pritt stick glue
PVA glue, glue brush
Papercraft ink pad (eg Memento, Rich Cocoa, but any size or colour will be fine)
A selection of papers (can be recycled magazines, envelopes, wrapping paper, leaflets etc)
Off-cuts of fabric, ribbon, lace etc.
Other everyday household items will be required, your tutor will inform you of these at the start of the course
