Woven driftwood art
Who is this course for?
This is a course for beginners, those with some experience, or anybody who is interested in using driftwood to create decorative hangings.
The course will look at how you can use driftwood, wire, wool and beads to make small, woven hangings, for either inside the home or outside, depending on materials used. The only skill level required is an imagination! It is intended that the course will provide you with the opportunity to interact with other learners in a relax and enjoyable session.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.

There are no entry requirements.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone / headphones and a good internet connection.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. Your course will include practical tasks and discussions and your tutor will support you throughout. You may wish to continue work after the session. This will help you to get the best from the course and to progress at a pace you are comfortable with.
Resources and additional information
A selection of different sized pieces of driftwood, including at least 6, thin pieces of driftwood, 1cm or less in diameter 15cm – 30cm long and 4 pieces of driftwood that are slightly thicker and roughly of equal lengths.
Flexible wire 1mm or less thickness
Selection of wool or thick thread
Beads, shells, trinkets and other embellishments you might like to include.
