Glass slumping and fusing: an introduction

Who is this course for?

This is suitable for beginners and those with experience.

Course content

You will learn how to make light catchers, medallions and small bowls using coloured glass as an introduction to the technique of glass slumping.

In the first session we will be learning about slumped glass and how to create formers out of clay which will be fired as moulds. Then we will arrange different glass in and on the formers, which will be put back in the kiln to fuse the glass and melt it to the shape of the formers.

Support and feedback

Your tutor will support you throughout the course. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.

You might want to bring your own apron. All tools are provided. Price includes materials.
