Ceramics for the table
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anyone
You will learn how to make your own bespoke practical hand-built ceramic kitchen/dining table accessories to enhance your own home, whatever your style. It can be one item or a set of matching things. You can choose from simple spoon rests, salt and pepper stands, toast racks, butter dishes, utensil and condiment pots, small jugs, cups, and saucers.
During session 1 and 2 you will learn how to make and finish your clay items and session 3 you will be decorating and glazing.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Additional costs and requirements
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You might want to bring your own apron. All tools are provided. For hygiene purposes, you will be allocated a set for your own personal use during the course. Finished fired and glazed items are costed at £4.00 per kg. (ie a small sauce jug would be about £1.00).
A collection date for your fired items will be arranged with the tutor.

“How will I learn?
Your course will include practical demonstrations and lots of hands on practical work. You will have the opportunity to discuss ideas and results with the tutor and other members of the group.
You may wish to work on ideas between the sessions. This will help you to get the best from the course and to progress at a pace you are comfortable with.
