Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who has an interest in creating for pleasure and would like to relax and enjoy exploring the materials. This course is aimed at any level, from beginner onwards.
We will be building and decorating simple or complex papier mache bowls. They can be of any size and shape, using a mould (bowl, vase, jar) that you have at home. We will use materials that you have or there is a list below. You can choose whether to make many small ones or one or two larger ones.
We will look at Pottery and Art from all over the world to help with decoration.
You will be able to explore your own ideas while being guided by your tutor.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone / headphones and a good internet connection.
You will need to provide your own materials.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. Your course will include practical tasks and discussions and your tutor will support you throughout. You may wish to continue work between the sessions. This will help you to get the best from the course and to progress at a pace you are comfortable with.

Vaseline or petroleum jelly
PVA glue and a jar to water it down in
Torn newsprint, newspaper or non-shiny magazines
Bowls/ vases/ vessels for moulds
A tray to sit the bowls in when building, to catch the watery glue
Acrylic paint to decorate
Paste brush, paint brushes
Marker pens (waterproof? if you have them for detail and writing
Water based varnish if you want to make them (not fully) watertight
Scissors and a craft knife if possible.
