Drawing to music
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who has an interest in drawing for pleasure and would like to relax and enjoy exploring art materials. This course is aimed at any level, from beginner onwards.
We will be looking at art by other artists and listening to music, discovering mark making and colour to represent what we hear. You will be exploring ways of looking and seeing. You will be trying a variety of activities. These include using a range of materials for mark making and expressive drawing. Each week there will be a different focus, technique or activity. You will be able to explore your own ideas while being guided by your tutor.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will support you throughout the course via the online sessions. You will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. You will receive feedback on your progress and suggestions as to how to improve.
Additional costs and requirements
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need a laptop / PC / phone / tablet with a camera and microphone / headphones and a good internet connection.
You will need to provide your own materials.

“How will I learn?
You will be working with your tutor and other learners using an online video platform called Zoom. Your course will include practical tasks and discussions and your tutor will support you throughout. You may wish to continue work between the sessions. This will help you to get the best from the course and to progress at a pace you are comfortable with.
Resources and additional information
Cartridge paper or good quality paper, preferably A3 or above
Acrylic or watercolour paints
A range of sizes of any quality of brushes
Pens of different sizes and colours; children’s felt tip pens are fine. If you have one water resistant pen that would be helpful.
Black drawing ink and a sepia ink and a stick could be useful
Other drawing materials if you have them
