Who is this course for?

This is for beginners or those with limited knowledge of mixing colours. It is intended that the course will provide you with the opportunity to interact with other learners in a relaxed and enjoyable session.

Course content

The course will look at how to mix colours using a limited palette. You will create a colour wheel using primary colours, mixing secondary and tertiary colours and gain an understanding of harmonious and complementary colour to emphasise your work and create atmosphere

ou will work with your tutor on your personal goals within the structure of the course. 

Additional costs and requirements

This course is delivered online and provided free of charge. You will, however, need a computer or a tablet with a stable internet connection, as well as a built in or external microphone and camera to attend the course.

In addition, you will need acrylic or gouache paint, a fine paintbrush and something to mix your colours on such, as an old plate. A template will be sent out to you prior to the start of the course.

About the tutor

Your tutor will be Colette Olah. Colette started working as a tutor for Learn Devon in September 2 You 018 and delivers a variety of art and craft, employability and computer skills courses. She is a qualified art and design teacher who has worked in both mainstream and special education. Colette has also delivered Independent Life Skills to adults with learning disabilities and taught basic cooking, art and drawing skills in adult education classes in Worcestershire. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the many beautiful beaches in North Devon and also searching for bargains at flea markets and car boot sales. Colette enjoys teaching at Learn Devon because she is keen to help her learners progress and achieve their goals. She believes that lifelong learning and gaining new skills can create a sense of wellbeing and improved self-esteem and aims to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for all participants.
