Introduction to wet felt making

Who is this course for?

This is a fun workshop using merino wool fibres with the wet felting method to turn the wool into felt objects. It is a simple but interesting process and is taught in a fun and friendly supportive environment

Course content

Using wool fibres, you will make a felt picture or felt scarf.

Support and feedback

The tutor will talk you through the session and encourage and support you.

Additional costs and requirements

It will be a bit watery, so maybe an apron or old shirt would be useful. Pair of scissors.

You may be eligible for a learner bursary if you can demonstrate that attending a course will improve your wellbeing. Eligibility is determined after a short interview with a member of our learning support team. You must be aged over 19 on 31st August 2019 and your household income below £16,009.50 to access this fund. Contact your local centre for more details.

Will I have to do anything outside of the session?


About the tutor

Harry Roberts currently works on Art and Design courses and a range of Art/music based ALDD courses for Learn Devon.  

Harry has a PGCE from the University of Reading and a BA Hons (Ist class) from the Polytechnic Wolverhampton and Ecole des Beaux Arts de Lyon.  

When he was a student his tutor was Anish Kapoor.
