Patchwork: foundation paper piecing
Who is this course for?
Many people have done patchwork but are put off by the cutting and fitting process that makes a quilt block. ‘Foundation Paper Piecing’ takes all the hassle out of cutting and sewing your quilt block. You can even use oddly shaped pieces of fabric without extra cutting.
It’s easy to sew acute angles with absolute precision every time; it’s so easy that it’s practically ‘patchwork by numbers’!
This course is suitable for those who have some basic sewing machine experience.
This workshop will introduce you to a completely different patchwork method – Foundation Paper Piecing. Your design is drawn on paper and then the fabric is sewn onto the paper. When the block is finished, the paper is torn away to leave a perfect quilt block every time. You will produce 1 quilt block to take home with you which you could transform into a cushion or bag or even continue the technique to make a quilt!
