Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for everyone who is interested in hand embroidery and would like to create a stitched picture using upcycled fabrics.

Course content

During this workshop you will create a fabric picture using fabric scraps and simple embroidery stitches.

About the tutor

Sam Brown currently works as a tutor for Learn Devon running courses in craft and design. Prior to this she had a varied career working as a Graphic Designer, an Interior Designer and as a Manager in interior and fashion retail.

Sam has a BA(Hons) in Design/Typography from the University of Plymouth as well as diplomas in Interior Design and Fashion and Textile Design.

Since childhood, Sam has loved making handcrafted pieces, developing skills in needlecraft and creative textiles techniques. She is interested in combining old and new technologies in her work from hand embroidery to digitally printed fabrics and from letterpress printing to Adobe Creative Cloud.
