Dressmaking: zips, buttonholes and darts
Who is this course for?
This workshop will show you how to insert zips, create buttonholes and sew darts. Experience of using a sewing machine is essential.
During this workshop you will learn some dressmaking techniques. You will create some samples of zips, buttonholes and darts.

Additional costs and requirements
All equipment and materials will be provided. If you have some fabric that you would like to use for sample, please bring this along with you.

About the tutor
Sam Brown currently works as a tutor for Learn Devon running courses in craft and design. Prior to this she had a varied career working as a Graphic Designer, an Interior Designer and as a Manager in interior and fashion retail.
Sam has a BA(Hons) in Design/Typography from the University of Plymouth as well as diplomas in Interior Design and Fashion and Textile Design.
Since childhood, Sam has loved making handcrafted pieces, developing skills in needlecraft and creative textiles techniques. She is interested in combining old and new technologies in her work from hand embroidery to digitally printed fabrics and from letterpress printing to Adobe Creative Cloud.
