Mosaic workshop: try it out
Who is this course for?
This taster workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to learn the principles and techniques needed for mosaic work.
You will be learning all of the techniques needed to work with reclaimed china to produce your unique mosaic coaster/pot stand.
Support and feedback
Your tutor will give you verbal feedback on your progress during the session and tell you how you can improve your skills.
Additional costs and requirements
It is advisable that you bring an apron/old shirt to cover your clothes.
All resources will be provided, however, if you have items you would like to incorporate into your mosaic project please bring them along.
You will be using associated tools and so will need to follow Health and Safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment.
There are no entry requirements.
You may be eligible for a learner bursary if you can demonstrate that attending a course will improve your wellbeing. Eligibility is determined after a short interview with a member of our learning support team. You must be aged over 19 on 31st August 2018 and your household income below £15,276 to access this fund. Contact your local centre for more details.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
You will need to grout your finished project leaving at least 24 hours from completion before grouting.
About the tutor
Amanda graduated from the University of Kent and worked at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, she moved to the West Country and has worked for Learn Devon, tutoring adult and community learning courses for Devon County Council since 2002.
