Introduction to inks
Who is this course for?
On this course you will learn how versatile inks are to use for creative projects and produce some beautiful imagery. Taught in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
You will learn some basic techniques using inks, including pens and brushes. You will also learn various techniques to create texture, make washes and use masks.
You will be able to use these skills to develop work in your own time or enrol on a longer course later this term.

Your tutor will be there for assistance and advice.

You may be eligible for a learner bursary if you can demonstrate that attending a course will improve your wellbeing. Eligibility is determined after a short interview with a member of our learning support team. You must be aged over 19 on 31st August 2018 and your household income below £15,276 to access this fund. Contact your local centre for more details

About the tutor
Nicky Montagu is an Art, Craft & design tutor for Learn Devon and teaches study skills at Petroc college. She has taught on many different courses in London as an Art & Design Lecturer, including Richmond upon Thames College and London College of Fashion. She graduated from the University of East London with a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art and gained a PGCE teacher training at the University of Greenwich.
She has worked as an Interior Designer on both domestic and commercial projects, and as a freelance lighting designer for Home-deq
Nicky has lived in Devon for the past four years where she has recently set up a printmaking studio. Her current work is about living on the Taw estuary in North Devon and is interested in texture and pattern in the landscape inspired by the ambient light and changing tides and seasons. She is interested in many different areas of art, craft and design including textiles, printing and sewing.
