Mixed media: Drawing, painting and collage
Who is this course for?
If you are looking to develop your understanding of mixed media, then this is the course for you.
The course is a great for new learners starting to learn to understand mixed media or for those with experience looking to go back over the basic concepts.
This course will be a fusion of drawing, painting, collage and printmaking.
We will discuss and explore all the core elements such as line, pattern, texture and tone, building confidence in layering, concepts of abstraction and colour theory.
Support and feedback
Tutor led exercises/demonstrations will support you with developing your skills. Feedback is given through one to one’s throughout the course with a focus on your individual needs as well as group discussion.
Additional costs and requirements
Basic materials provided but you may wish to bring your own sketchbook and materials if you prefer
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
There will be handouts with suggested tasks/research that you may wish to do in your own time but this is optional.
About the tutor
Alexis Soul-Gray is a practicing artist with a subject specialism in Drawing and Painting. She is a graduate of Central Saint Martins and Camberwell College of Art and has studied at MA level at The Royal Drawing School. Alexis is a qualified teacher of Art & Design and has taught in a wide range of formal and non-formal settings including Museums, Galleries, Primary and Secondary Schools, Universities and community arts projects. She has also worked as a curator, organising large scale Arts events in unusual settings.
