Who is this course for?
This course is for both absolute beginners who would like to explore the simplest techniques of watercolour painting and for those who wish to build on basic core skills. The sessions will be relaxed, friendly and supportive.
Creating something new, using your hands, learning a new skill and making friends can help us to feel less isolated, can increase our self esteem and encourage us to use our time more productively, giving us a greater sense of wellbeing. “No one can give wellbeing to you. It’s you who has to take action,”Professor Stewart Brown
You will be exploring the possibilities of watercolour; colour mixing, producing colour washes and then going on to create vibrant effects using masking fluid and wax crayons. Inspiration will come from both natural forms such as flowers and shells along with creating patterns from your imagination.
Support and feedback
Learners will get individual support and feedback from the tutor. Group conversations about project ideas will be encouraged.
Additional costs and requirements
All basic materials are provided at the session. If you wish to extend your range of supplies you can bring your own watercolour materials.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
