Pottery taster: throwing, turning and glazing
Who is this course for?
Come and learn to use the potter’s wheel in a fun and friendly environment. In a fully equipped workshop you will be able to make items you can take home and use. Session one will focus on forming pots on the wheel. The second will concentrate on turning with tools and applying handles. The third session will finishing your item/s and glazing.
Using the potter’s wheel. Being given practical demonstrations and one to one help. Having opportunity to discuss ideas with the tutor and other members of the group.
Support and feedback
Lots of discussions with the tutor and experiencing the practical results.
Additional costs and requirements
You will need your own apron or overall.

About the tutor
Deb Perry has been teaching in adult education for 25 years as well as working as a designer and maker. Although a well qualified ceramics specialist with an M.A gained in Stoke-on-Trent, she has a lot of experience in different arts and crafts including recycling, printing, textiles and props and costumes for theatre. Deb believes that learning should be fun, stimulating and stress-free and tries to create an environment where everyone can feel at home.
