Work skills: Interview skills
Who is this course for?
If you want to present yourself well to prospective employers then this course is for you. The course is aimed at anyone who is actively seeking work or who would like to develop their skills and knowledge for future employment. Employment could mean either paid work or volunteering.
• Know how to present yourself appropriately at interviews
• Identify and use positive verbal and non verbal communication strategies
• Know how to prepare for an interview including finding out about the employer and thinking about the type of questions you may be asked

Your tutor will give you support and feedback, both 1 to 1 and in the group setting.

You should also bring a notebook and pen with you
It would also be useful to come along with ideas about the types of jobs you are interested in.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
No, but you may find it useful to research some of the jobs you are interested in and think about the sorts of questions you might be asked in an interview for a specific job you are interested in applying for.

Sarah has been teaching and tutoring for over 10 years across a broad range of courses and settings. She creates engaging lessons drawing on her experience and a wide variety of teaching activities. She has extensive experience and qualifications focused around the needs of her learners and enabling them to progress. Her work involves supporting students’ study skills form GCSE to university level degree, up to PHD.
