Who is this course for?
This course is for both absolute beginners who would like to explore the simplest techniques of acrylic painting and for those who wish to build on basic core skills. The session will be relaxed, friendly and supportive.
You will be producing a simple, contemporary style painting of a flower of your choice which will be enlarged to create a close-up view. We will be using a bold complementary colour pallet inspired by both Pop Art and the Post Impressionists. Some basic colour theory will be covered. You will end the class with a finished acrylic painting on canvas.
Support and feedback
Learners will get individual support and feedback from the tutor. Group conversations about project ideas will be encouraged.
Additional costs and requirements
Please bring a small sketch pad (of drawing or mixed media paper) in which to produce visual and written notes. All other basic materials are provided at the session. This will include brushes, acrylic paints and a small canvas. If you wish to bring a flower of your choice to paint please do although there will be flowers provided to work from too.
